Doolittle moves to No. 1 at 120 pounds

WEBSTER CITY — There’s a new No. 1 at 120 pounds in Class 2A and his name is Drake Doolittle.

The Webster City senior moved up one spot to the top of the division in the latest rankings released by iawrestle.com on Tuesday. Doolittle, a one-time state finalist and three-time state medalist, will take a 27-1 record into Saturday’s North Central Conference tournament where he’ll battle for his fourth league title.

Aden Reeves, a two-time state champion and the top-ranked 126-pound grappler in the country according to Intermat, was previously No. 1 at 120. But it was announced on Sunday that Reeves, an Iowa State recruit, will miss the remainder of the season due to a knee injury that will require surgery.

WCHS freshman Camron Phetxoumphone and senior Caleb Olson also moved up in the rankings. They are both No. 6 at 106 and 195, respectively.
