Despite their best efforts, victory is still eluding an eager Webster City girls’ soccer team.

In their latest match, where they squared off against Clear Lake, the Lynx couldn’t stop the Lions in a 7-1 decision in a North Central Conference match held last Thursday evening at Lynx Field in Webster City.

Falling behind early, Webster City did put one in the back of the net, as junior Jillian Symens scored her first goal of the season. Symens returned to the lineup following an injury sustained in the opening moments of the Lynx’s season opener against Boone on March 28.

Junior Joleah Stuhr logged 16 saves against the Lions.

The Lynx remain winless, falling to 0-4 overall, with a 0-3 mark within the NCC. The Lions improved to 2-1 in the NCC, and 2-1 overall.

Webster City will seek to snap their opening skid, traveling north to face Belmond-Klemme in a conference match scheduled for 5:30 p.m. today at Faris Field in Belmond. The Broncos are also winless, currently sitting at 0-3, 0-3 in the NCC.

Starting at $3.46/week.
