Webster City begins defense of District 1 grid title

Webster City’s football team officially started its practice for the 2022 campaign this week. The Lynx are coming off an 8-3 campaign and a Class 4A, District 1 title under head coach Bob Howard. After a 1-2 start to the season, they reeled off seven consecutive wins last year and went unbeaten in district play before bowing out in the quarterfinals round versus Cedar Rapids Xavier, 24-13. Webster City opens with Humboldt on the road Aug. 26. The home opener for the Lynx is against Boone on Sept. 2.
