Casady continues to be Lynx catalyst at triangular, tourney
Webster City’s Katie Casady collected her third consecutive meet medalist honor on Friday and then placed fourth in a large tournament on Saturday.
Casady fired a 51 to win by two strokes in a North Central Conference triangular against Hampton-Dumont/CAL and Algona at the Hampton Golf and Country Club on Friday. She then carded a 99 at the 18-hole Jeanne Spieler Invitational at the Carroll Country Club on Saturday.
WCHS shot a 245 and finished third at the triangular. HDC defended its home course advantage with a 234 and Algona slotted into second with a 240.
Ella Dinsdale (62), Jayde Bertran (66) and Carly Appel (66) were scoring players for the Lynx in the meet.
WCHS shot a 463 and shared seventh-place in the 11-team tournament field. Carroll had the top two individuals — Laura Sweeney was the winner with an 87 — en route to a team championship total of 388. Atlantic was second with a 417.
Dinsdale turned in a 107 for the Lynx. Bertran added a 126 and Appel a 131.
WCHS was without Alley Odland in both events. Odland has served as the team’s No. 3 player throughout the spring campaign.
