LYNX BLANK HDC FOR SECOND TIME ON TENNIS COURTS
WEBSTER CITY — Heath Patterson gave up just one game in his singles rout, as he shepherded the Webster City boys’ tennis team to a quick and painless victory at the Lynx Courts on Friday.
“Couldn’t have asked for a better day,” Patterson, the Lynx No. 1 player, said following a 6-0 victory over Hampton-Dumont/CAL.
WCHS (3-2) has swept both of its meets against the Bulldogs (0-3) this season.
“I couldn’t be happier with the effort the guys are putting in,” WCHS coach Michael Ross said. “It’s showing off in their play.”
Patterson handled HDC’s Jonah Bollhagen, 10-1. Walter Moreira-Suarez and Jayden Wibholm were both 10-2 winners, and Brody Henderson cruised to a 10-4 win.
Patterson was the only player to play both singles and doubles. He teamed up with Seth Nelson for a 10-5 win. Chase Black and George Vila joined forces for a 10-2 win.
