Lynx unable to scratch out a match against Cadets
IOWA FALLS — The Iowa Falls-Alden girls’ tennis team wrapped up a 9-1 regular season by earning a second 9-0 win of the season over Webster City here yesterday evening.
The Cadets stormed through the three doubles matches — played at the start of the meet — without giving up more than two games. They continued to roll in singles; only McKenna Dinsdale and Mackenzie Burney won more than two games for the Lynx (0-8).
“Give credit to Iowa Falls, they have an experienced group and it shows through their mechanics and their shot making,” WCHS head coach Mark Fisher said. “We came out a little flat … we did some things as matches played out, but we have to be better from start to finish.”
WCHS will take on North Polk in Huxley Saturday morning in a team regional match. The winner will face Ballard or Saydel.
