Ferrell, Lynx second at quad in Clear Lake

CLEAR LAKE — Clear Lake defended its home course and won a North Central Conference quadrangular boys’ golf meet at Veterans Memorial Golf Club on Monday.

The Lions shot a 157 to sit at the top. Webster City settled for second with a 166, followed by CGD (185) and Algona (190).

Lynx senior Nathan Ferrell finished second on the individual leaderboard with a 1-over-par 37, one stroke behind medalist Jack Barragy (36) of Clear Lake. Both players eagled the par-5 first hole; Ferrell added a birdie to his card that also included four pars, two bogeys and a double bogey.

Drake Doering added a 41 for WCHS. Trey Lyons carded a 42, while Chase Rattenborg and Devon Stoakes both shot 46.

Dalton Nesheim and Blake Jackson fired rounds of 42 for CGD. Jason Cecil’s 43 paced Algona.
