It’s the battle of unbeaten Hawks tonight

WEBSTER CITY — The South Hamilton football team will venture out on the road for the first time this season tonight when it heads west to take on Woodward-Granger at 7 p.m. in Woodward.

South Hamilton (2-0) has so far been unscathed, as it’s relied on a solid ground game and a punishing defense to turn back South Hardin and Grundy Center. But the Hawks may have to put points on the scoreboard in bunches against a Woodward-Granger (2-0) offense that has sailed in its first two games.

W-G punished Madrid and Ogden in its first two games and enters tonight averaging 50.5 points a contest. Quarterback Keith Braunschweig has been nearly unstoppable, as he’s averaged 24.2 yards per pass completion and 9.6 yards every time he’s tucked and run.

Braunschweig and Tate Lettow both average over 100 yards rushing per game.

South Hamilton churned out more than 300 yards on the ground in its 26-14 win over Grundy Center a week ago. Halfbacks DJ Klonglan and Sam Lewis combined for 197 yards.

South Hamilton’s defense has also come up with six interceptions, including three from Brandyn Feighner.
