WEBSTER CITY — The Webster City baseball team will be the No. 2 seed in the Class 3A Substate 2 bracket and will get the chance to play two postseason games at home.

The pairings were released by the Iowa High School Athletic Association yesterday morning.

The Lynx will host both 3A District 4 semifinals on Friday, July 13. Clear Lake (20-9) and Humboldt (13-13) will meet in the opener at 5 p.m., followed by WCHS (14-5) against Perry (8-9) in the nightcap at 7 p.m.

The winners will battle for the district championship in Webster City on Monday, July 16.

The District 3 semifinals will be held in Boone next Friday. Algona (17-12) and Gilbert (15-11) will open the night, while ninth-ranked Boone (20-6) and Iowa Falls-Alden (6-16) will finish it off.

The two district winners will meet in the substate for the right to advance to the state tournament. The substate location hasn’t been released by the IHSAA.
