Lynx score 6 unanswered goals, throttle CMB, 6-1
MAXWELL – Sarah Vogelbacher ripped off four second-half goals and added an assist, as the Webster City girls’ soccer team overcame an early 1-0 deficit to thump CMB, 6-1, here last night.
Hannah Williams added a pair of goals for the Lynx (3-3), who owned a 31-7 advantage in shots taken. WCHS goalkeeper Maia Jaycox recorded six saves.
After being outscored 40-0 in its first four matches, CMB (0-5) notched its first goal early in the first half and held the lead until Williams evened the score on a goal courtesy of a Vogelbacher assist with seven seconds left in the half.
Vogelbacher scored second-half goals in the 42nd, 44th, 61st and 68th minutes; Williams, Kennedy Daniels and Jenna Arbaugh registered assists. Williams padded the lead with an unassisted goal in the 71st minute.
