SH girls struggle, fall to Ogden, 46-13

OGDEN – The usual suspects – a low field goal percentage and turnovers – again kept the South Hamilton girls’ basketball team from being competitive here Saturday night.

The Hawks shot just 11 percent (5 of 42) and turned the ball over 24 times in a 46-13 loss to non-conference opponent Ogden.

South Hamilton (0-3) was held scoreless in the opening quarter and managed just six points in the first half. Ogden opened up a 17-6 advantage at the intermission and then dominated the final 16 minutes, 29-7.

“We played a pretty good first half,” South Hamilton head coach Tony Woodall said. “We missed too many shots and had way too many turnovers in the second half.”

Ogden connected on six 3-point baskets, including two each from Anna Langel and Kennedy Kruse. Langel led all scorers with 13 points. Elle Laws chipped in nine for the Bulldogs.

South Hamilton received four points from Autymn Olson and three from Raquel Holt. Olson and Bree Hodnefield both collected six rebounds.
