Trojans lace 17 hits, blister ISC rival Tripoli, 17-2

BLAIRSBURG – Northeast Hamilton got its bats rolling early and never let up in a 17-2, 4-inning thumping of Iowa Star Conference rival Tripoli here yesterday evening.

Eight Trojans rattled off hits and seven contributed multiple hits.

“We definitely came to play,” NEH head coach Chace Pruismann said.

NEH (3-9, 3-9 ISC) finished with 17 hits, including four that went for extra bases.

Wes Wynkoop and Austin Smith were both 3-for-3 and combined for four RBI in the win. Hunter Dilley, Nate Rapp, Nick Jeffers, Andy Pate and Garrett Grady all provided two hits.

Jeffers, Pate and Kyle Pruismann found the gap for doubles. Dilley – celebrating his 18th birthday – and Grady both drove in three runs.

Tripoli (5-9, 4-6 ISC) collected just four hits off Rapp, who went the distance to earn the win. He walked three and struck out six.
