No. 8 Dons continue to dismantle the ISC, this time Trojans turn

BLAIRSBURG – Northeast Hamilton became just the latest Iowa Star Conference baseball team to feel the wrath of the Don Bosco bats Monday evening.

The Trojans won’t be the last either.

Behind nine hits and back-to-back six-run innings in the third and fourth, No. 8-ranked (Class 1A) Don Bosco cruised to a 16-0, 4-inning rout of Northeast Hamilton. The Dons have won all six of their league contests by eight runs or more – topped by a 32-0 pummeling of Clarksville earlier this month – and have outscored ISC foes 94-4.

“They’re a very good team … they just get hit after hit after hit,” NEH head coach Chace Pruismann said.

Don Bosco (12-2, 6-0 ISC) also forced NEH (1-8, 1-8 ISC) into seven defensive errors and scored in all four innings.

Nick Jeffers suffered the loss on the mound for the Trojans, who lost their sixth consecutive game. Kyle Leksell took over in the third inning.

Dons’ pitchers Bryce Schares and Martin Huck combined to toss a one-hitter. Nate Rapp collected the lone base knock for the Trojans – a first-inning, two-out single.

NEH will be back on its home field today against CAL, followed by a trip to Dunkerton on Friday.
