WCHS girls handed first loss by Lions

CLEAR LAKE – After opening the spring with back-to-back dual-meet wins, the Webster City girls’ tennis team suffered its first loss of the season here on Tuesday.

Clear Lake swept the doubles matches and took five of the six singles bouts for an 8-1 victory.

Webster City’s lone victory came from No. 5 singles player Olivia Tasler, who disposed of Kirsten Baalson, 8-3.

The Lions took the three doubles matches 8-3, 8-1 and 8-3.

WCHS (2-1) will travel to take on Hampton-Dumont on Friday.
