Hawks close season looking to stun No. 3 St. Edmond

FORT DODGE – Third-ranked (Class 1A) and District 7 champion Fort Dodge St. Edmond enters tonight’s 7 p.m. kickoff against South Hamilton with a better than two-year regular season winning streak.

Already eliminated from the playoff picture, South Hamilton has nothing to lose.

The Hawks will attempt to slow down legendary coach Dick Tighe’s belly offense, which is spearheaded by junior T.J. O’Tool, who leads the class in rushing yards (1,739) and touchdowns (28).

Blake Barquist is the expected starter at quarterback for the Hawks. He stepped into the fray last week following the season-ending injury suffered by Collin Hill.
