WILLEMS CAREER NIGHT LIFTS TROJETS: Jenn Willems was decent last night in Garwin.

The Northeast Hamilton senior blasted a double and two singles and drove in a career-high eight runs to power the Trojets to a 19-4, 5-inning Iowa Star Conference victory over Green Mountain Garwin (0-10, 0-6 ISC).

Willems capped her night with a three-RBI shot in the fifth inning.

NEH (8-14, 5-4 ISC) pounded out 16 hits. Leah Meyer had four, including a double. Molly Greenfield ripped three, highlighted by a triple.

Lillian Chamness added a hit and three RBIs. Greenfield, Meyer, Kim VanHouten and Andi Anderson also plated runs.

RAMS WHIP HAWKS IN 6: Greene County (21-7, 11-3 HOIC) blasted nine hits and scored multiple runs in four of its six at-bats, including a six-run sixth, en route to a 12-0, 6-inning softball victory over South Hamilton last night at the Mike Penning Athletic Complex in Jewell.

The Hawks (8-17, 4-11 HOIC) managed just three hits. Brittany Nicholson had a single and double, while Kali Lucas found the gap and raced around the bases for a triple.

Nicholson worked into the third inning in the circle before handing the ball off to Adi Wintermote. Nicholson took the loss.

South Hamilton will be at Gilbert on Friday, followed by a Saturday morning game at Webster City.

GREENE COUNTY SCORES IN 7th, BEATS SH BASEBALL: Greene County broke up a 6-all tie with the winning run in the top of the seventh inning in its 6-5 victory over South Hamilton at the Mike Penning Athletic Complex in Jewell last night.

The Rams (8-12, 3-9 HOIC) finished with nine hits, while the Hawks (9-11, 4-10 HOIC) had eight.

Lane Heinlein went 2-for-4 with a triple in the loss. Hunter Griffin, Lucas Olson, Trevor Ullestad and Josh Doering all had one hit and one RBI.

Ullestad took the mound in the seventh in relief of Josh Doering and accepted the loss.

South Hamilton will be at Gilbert on Friday.

WOLVERINES UNLEASH OFFENSE AGAINST TROJANS: Green Mountain Garwin (2-11, 2-5 ISC) blasted 14 hits – including a game-ending three-run home run – and won for just the second time all season last night, as the Wolverines handled Iowa Star Conference rival Northeast Hamilton, 16-0 in 4 innings at Garwin.

NEH (5-9, 4-7 ISC) managed just one hit – a single by Gabe Rapp.
