Webster City Federal Savings Bank announced today that construction of their new building to be located at the corner of Superior Street and Fair Meadow Drive in Webster City will be delayed until the spring of 2014.
The announcement said the delay is due to an issue regarding the potential use of non-local contractors and sub-contractors. Stephen Mourlam, Webster City Federal President and Chief Executive Officer, said Webster City Federal's commitment is to the community and it is important to them that they utilize local contractors and sub-contractors whenever possible to complete this project.
"The new building project has not been at a complete standstill as preliminary ground work was completed during the summer as sewer lines were relocated to prepare the site for ground breaking. This will enable us to quickly move forward when the timing is right," Mourlam said. "We are dedicated to bringing the new facility to Webster City to improve our customer experience, support future growth of our institution and to show our strong commitment to the future of Webster City and surrounding communities."
Webster City Federal originally announced the plans for the construction of their new, two-story facility back in January. The facility will join their existing ATM at the corner of Superior Street and Fair Meadow Drive.
Since 1934, Webster City Federal Savings Bank has been a full-service community bank providing a wide range of personal banking services to their customers throughout Hamilton County. They are currently located at 820 Des Moines St., with ATM services within the Van Diest Medical Center and at the corner of Superior Street and Fair Meadow Drive in Webster City.
