Darlene Dighton, 81, went to be with the Lord on September 17, 2013 at her home in Mesa, AZ. Her body will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at the Sunland Springs Chapel in Mesa on October 19, 2013. Darlene was the daughter of Edward and Emma Pruismann of Webster City, IA. She was born on June 29, 1932. After graduation, she worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. During Darlene's career her accomplishments included being the first woman maintenance tester in the state of Iowa, test center supervisor in Marshalltown, IA, Supervisor of Cable Center in Des Moines, IA, and Supervisor of Installation Center in Marshalltown, where she retired after 31 years of service. She was a member of American Business Women, Sigma Master Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, American Legion of Union, IA, Moose Lodge of Marshalltown, and Redeemer Lutheran Church in Marshalltown. On February 11, 1978, she was united in marriage to Leo Dighton at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Marshalltown. They remained in Union until they retired permanently in Mesa in 2005. She is survived by her husband Leo, sisters Henrietta Johnson of Kalona, IA, Anna Coppes of Burlington, IA, and brother Frank Pruismann of Belleville, IL, one step-daughter Janet, 3 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and son Mark. Memorials may be made to Infiniti Hospice of Mesa, AZ, or the hospice of your choice. One of Darlene's most memorable accomplishments during retirement was a hole-in-one during Couples Golf. Darlene was loved by many and we will miss her dearly.
