New teachers join staff of Webster City Schools

16 new teachers join faculty for 2013-14 year

New teachers from Iowa and beyond have joined the Webster City School District for the now ongoing school year.

Teachers, what they will be teaching and a brief description of their previous experience was provided by the district curriculum office.

Julie Kramersmeier is teaching High School business and has taught in CAL schools and Northeast Hamilton Schools.

Leah Sadler is teaching first grade and is a first year teacher. She was a student teacher at Fort Dodge schools and Humboldt schools.

Brad VanDeer is teaching third grade and is a first year teacher. He taught at Hampton-Dumont schools, and is a softball coach for Webster City schools.

Cali Peterson is teaching first grade. She has been a long term substitute teacher at Pleasant View, and has also substituted at St. Thomas Aquinas School. She has also taught at Webster City schools as a kindergarten teacher.

Katie Peterson is a second grade teacher. She has student taught at Webster City schools.

Nicholas Plueger is teaching Middle School physical education. He is a first year teacher, and student taught at Okoboji schools and Spencer Schools.

Josie Smock is teaching first grade. She has also taught at Center Point Urbana schools.

Erica Munkel is a Middle School art teacher. She is a first year teacher, and had student teaching experience at Dallas, Texas schools.

Alexis Draeger is teaching High School special education. She is a first year teacher with student teaching experience at Eagle Grove schools and Fort Dodge schools. She has also been a para-educator at Webster City schools.

John Malett is teaching Middle School instrumental music. He brings experience from teaching at Kuemper-Catholic schools in Carroll and Bishop Garrigan Schools.

Molly Buse is teaching High School English and is a first year teacher. She brings student teaching experience from Waterloo and Dunkerton schools.

Danny Lee is teaching High School art, and is a first year teacher. He recently returned to the United States after teaching in Taiwan.

Julie Swanson is teaching science at Webster City High School. She has been the center director at the Ames Sylvan Learning Center, a teacher at Colo-NESCO schools and at Aurora Academy Charter School.

Beth Bockman is teaching math and science at Webster City Middle School. She is a first year teacher with student teaching experience at Waterville schools and Postville schools.

Brian Kierzek, not pictured, is teaching High School science. He is a first year teacher who student taught at Ames schools.

Loretta Martzahl, not pictured, is a new High School guidance counselor. She has also been a guidance counselor at Fort Dodge schools and Venture schools.
