Helen Coleman, 94, Webster City

Helen L. Coleman, 94, passed away peacefully Friday, August 16th at Crestview Nursing and Rehabilitation where she had been a resident since April of 2011. Helen was born on February 25, 1919 in Marengo, Indiana to her parents Alva and Lula Denton. As a child, Helen's family moved from Indiana to a farm near Blairsburg, Iowa where she attended school and would eventually graduate from Blairsburg High School.

Helen married Norval Coleman on December 27, 1948 and they would go on to enjoy 48 years of adventures together. The couple spent most of their first 25 years of marriage in Southern California where Norval helped build the Interstate Highway System. They eventually retired to Payette, Idaho and made it their home for 14 years before returning to Webster City to enjoy their final years with family and friends.

Helen worked at Morton Frozen Foods in Webster City, but also enjoyed being a stay at home house wife throughout most of her married life.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sisters and one brother. She leaves behind a brother-in-law, Virgil (Phyllis) Coleman, sisters-in-law, Avon Hicks, Margie Lamfers, Mary Trampel and Mavis Coleman along with many nieces and nephews.

Helen was a member of The New Testament Church of Christ. Grave-side services will be held at a later date.
