TROJANS DROPPED BY DUNKERTON: Dunkerton scored six runs in the first and second innings en route to an 8-2 Iowa Star Conference win over Northeast Hamilton yesterday in Dunkerton.

The Trojans (6-13) collected just three hits - singles by Gabe Rapp, Austin Smith and Logan Seiser. Smith drove in a run with his hit in the first inning.

Gabe Rapp took the loss on the mound. Dunkerton (14-14) had seven hits; Rapp struck out three and walked six.

Northeast Hamilton will begin Class 1A district play against West Hancock in Belmond on Tuesday. The game is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. from Belmond-Klemme High School.

HAWKS CLIPPED BY GREENE COUNTY: The South Hamilton baseball team was unable to follow up its upset victory over No. 6-ranked (Class 2A) Roland-Story on Tuesday, as the Hawks dropped a 9-3 Heart of Iowa Conference clash to Greene County last night in Jefferson.

No other statistics were available as of press time.

South Hamilton finished the regular season at 11-13, while Greene County improved to 13-15.

The Hawks will begin 2A District 4 play on Saturday with a quarterfinal-round contest against Clarion-Goldfield in Story City. The first pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.
