Musicians assist senior center

Jam session brings donations to help keep center open

April 17, 2013
The Daily Freeman Journal

A group of musicians will have contributed proceeds from a recent jam session at the The Links Golf Course and Restaurant to the Webster City Senior Center.

Participants iincluded Paul Olson, master of ceremonies and sound technician, Webster City; Wil Kuhlers, Belmond; Bill Hendren, Dumont; Don Wrolson, Hampton; Haley Auston, Iowa Falls; War Wright, Kanawha; Annie Avery, Rowan; Teri Avery, Rowan; Alex Koberdanz, John Hemingway, Lee Ayers and Dan Myers, all of Webster City.

The musicians said most venues require a building fee. They generally pass the hat to cover those costs. At this performance, the proceeds from the hat were refused by the building owner and a donation was made to the Webster City Senior Citizen's Center. A total of $122 was donated.

The next jam session will be held at The Links Golf Course and again the proceeds from the hat will go to keep the senior center open. The jams are held on the first Friday of the month from 6 to 9 p.m.
