The Webster City Fire Department will resume the weekly testing of the city's tornado warning sirens beginning Saturday.
According to Fire Chief Mike Lund, the sirens will be tested each Saturday at noon for one minute.
"We ask for the public's assistance in reporting if a siren does not work so we can get it fixed as soon as possible," he said.
For a tornado warning the sirens will sound for five minutes. There is no all clear signal, so if the sirens continue to sound, seek and remain sheltered, Lund said.
The tornado sirens are an outdoor warning system. Lund said weather radios are strongly recommended.
"Turn on your television or radio during inclement weather to listen for tornado watches or warning," he said.
