At the Tuesday meeting of the Van Diest Medical Center Board of Trustees, the board narrowly approved a plan to open a satellite clinic in Dayton.
Dayton Mayor Richard Travis was present at the meeting with several other representatives from the city of 837 residents. He said the plan to open the clinic had to be altered to include the owner of the building that the clinic will be in. Travis said the town is "all in" on the project.
Board member Myra Maxon moved to operate the clinic in pursuant to the existing terms of the clinic agreement with the addition of language to include the building's owner. The motion passed with four board members voting yes and three voting no. Board chairman Don Bottorff, who was among those voting no, said the finalized agreement will be sent to board members upon completion and a special meeting to voice objections will be held if needed.
