Gary Nail, 78, Webster City

Gary Lee Nail of Webster City, age 78, passed away peacefully at Van Diest Medical Center on November 7, 2012. Visitation is scheduled for Fri., Dec. 7th from 5pm to 7pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, Webster City.Funeral services will be held at the church on Sat., Dec. 8 at 10:30am. A private burial service will follow at Graceland Cemetery.

Gary was born March 30, 1934 in Webster City to Charles and Gertrude Nail. He attended school in Clarion and served in the US Navy from 1951-1955. Gary married the late Sharon-Nail Magee (Woodley) in 1955. They were later divorced. He married the late Jan Hanson (Toft) in Iowa Falls in 1979. After retirement they lived in West Des Moines and Webster City, and later relocated to the Southfield Assisted Living Center. Gary's Farmer's Cooperative service as a Manager spanned 30+ years. He was a longtime member of the First Congregational Church and a lifetime member of the Elk's Lodge.

Gary is survived by sons Christopher (Mary Kay) Nail of Pittsburgh, PA, Andrew (Beth) Nail of North Pole, AK, step children Bonita (Don) Joyce of Mahtomedi, MN, William (Nancy) Reece of Mandeville, LA, and Tevi Robinson of St. Louis, MO, grandchildren Jessica (Dean) Peterson, Brandon Joyce, William Reece, Charles Reece, Amanda Robinson, Kelsey Robinson, Britni (Will) Means, and Brandi Swindler, and great-grandchildren Lily Reece, Kingston Swindler, Tara Robinson, and Jameson and Cianna Means.

Gary leaves one sister, Joyce (Roy) Fulton of Webster City, and sisters-in-law Felicitas "Fely" Nail of Webster City, Barb Nail and Joyce Nail, both of Clarion, and many nieces and nephews.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Gertrude and Charles Nail, brothers Don Nail, Wendell Nail, Dick Nail, and step daughter Kim Reece. Memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
