The Daily Freeman Journal

A community-wide music festival is planned for Oct. 28 at 3 p.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1229 Kathy Lane.

Organizer Doug Getter said a variety of performers will take part in the event.

"The festival will feature area musical artists sharing their talent," said Getter. Among the featured artists will be Linda Singer, Myra Maxon and Mary Van Diest, Diane Doering, Sue Culbertson and Dave Moklebust.

Trinity Lutheran Church is the home of a hand-built Dobson Organ. Dobson organs are built in Lake City and the company is recognized as a world leader in custom-built organs, Getter said.

Serving as the host, the Rev. Tony Ede, chair of the Trinity Evangelism Committee, said, "We are delighted to offer to the community access to enjoying the remarkable sound produced by the church's Dobson organ."

Following the festival, the Evangelism Committee will host a reception for the guest artists.

"A free will offering will be available, with proceeds to assist the Webster City Ministerial Association's Weekend Food Backpack Program for students in need and the Upper Des Moines Opportunity Food Pantry," according to Getter.
