Conway headlines GOP event

Hamilton County Republicans held their annual fall chili supper and auction fundraiser Saturday night. County Chair Mark Greenfield introduced the lineup of speakers: State Sen. Jerry Behn; Iowa Secretary of State Matt Schultz, who spoke about voter fraud; State Auditor Dave Vaudt, addressing the need for fiscal accountability; Republican National Committeeman Steve Scheffler, who spoke about rule changes at the national convention and U.S. Rep. Steve King who touched on several topics of interest to the crowd of 135. Following the candidates was WHO Radio conservative talk show host, Simon Conway, a native of England, now an American citizen, spoke of the dangers of nationalized medicine that he and his family experienced firsthand. The evening concluded with a lively auction conducted by State Rep. Stewart Iverson.
