No. 8 W-G rules battle of Hawks

JEWELL - No. 8-ranked (Class 2A) Woodward-Granger was the dominant group of Hawks here last night in a 3-0 sweep of non-conference opponent South Hamilton, 25-7, 25-13, 25-6.

South Hamilton (5-12) mustered up more blocks (13) than kills (8), a sign of its defensive posture.

"They have a couple of really nice hitters and they did a pretty decent job with ball control," South Hamilton coach Cindy Holmes said of W-G (21-3).

Eliana Lowry had four blocks and two kills for South Hamilton. Tiffany Jacobson and Rachael Drake both had three snuffs.

Hannah Pulis collected four digs in the loss and Mackenzie Busch dished out three assists.
