Angel Tree tags available at Webster Theater

To the Editor:

HERO, the Help Entertain and Restore Organization, is once again sponsoring the Angel Tree project for Hamilton County.  Applications have been accepted through Hamilton County Public Health and Upper Des Moines Opportunity and will continue to be accepted through those agencies until Nov. 25 at the latest.

The Angel tags have been hung on the Christmas tree in the lobby of the Webster Theater and are ready for pick-up now.  If you are interested in making one of these children’s Christmases a little brighter all you have to do is pick your tag, register it in the registration book and have your gift returned, unwrapped, to the theater or the Webster City Fire Department no later than December 3rd.  The lobby of the theater will be open every day from today until Dec. 3 from 4 to 6 p.m. for people to pick-up tags and return gifts. HERO board members and their families, as well as members of the WCFD, will then spend the next 8 days sorting the gifts by family and readying the gifts for pick-up at the fire station from 1 to 4 on Sunday, Dec. 11.

HERO would like to thank ABATE for their generous donation to our Angel Tree project, as well as various other businesses, churches, civic organizations and individuals.  Any monetary donations are used for printing, bags and shopping for children whose tags are not taken, or for children who could use a little more.

Thank you to all who participate, it is always heart warming to see the smiles of those who bring their gifts back, as well as the sincere gratitude expressed by those less fortunate when they pick-up their packages. Wishing you and yours a very merry Christmas.
