Thinks Peck has the necessary skills to be sheriff

To the Editor:

On May 26, I had the pleasure of being able to listen to 3 individual seeking election at the town hall forum at the Webster City Middle School to become the next sheriff of Hamilton County. Of the three individuals that spoke one clearly stuck out to me and conveyed a message of true leadership that the sheriff’s department and Hamilton County needs.

This individual came to the stage in jeans and a sport coat showing that he is down to earth and just another guy next door. He spoke very well in regards to the needs of the county but also what it takes to be in the next sheriff. Ken Peck is the guy with the knowledge and experience to be our next sheriff.

One of the greatest assets Ken has is that he not only has worked as a jailer, dispatcher, and deputy over the past 30 years, but has also worked in the private sector. Having the critical experience in all positions at a sheriff’s dept. is crucial to understanding the needs of individuals that work with you and the citizen of Hamilton County. It builds confidence for those persons as they know you understand their daily task/needs and will work with them to make it a better place. Ken also offers the understanding of money and budgets due to his private sector experience where he bids many jobs with budgets and then supervises them.

Ken spoke with an open, sincere, and honest mind at the forum. Ken knows that the only way to make change from the bottom to the top is to elect the correct officials to do the job at local levels and allow their actions to speak louder than the words. His actions will make this county have better and safer communities. I also believe that Ken’s morals, integrity and experience far surpass the other candidates after listening and understanding each of them. Ken is clearly the correct candidate to take the seat as sheriff of Hamilton County.

With a forward looking positive attitude and the 100 percent clear winner when it comes to experience coupled with a down-to-earth next-door-neighbor attitude, we are sure to have better and safer communities for everyone. Please help me on June 7 (or before at the auditor’s office) to elect Ken Peck as the next Sheriff of Hamilton County to ensure that we have a moral and ethical leader for our men and women patrolling the county. He’s not only experienced, honest, and vigilant at everything he does, but also understands that he and his deputies work for the people of this county to make it a better place to live. Let’s show Ken the respect he deserves for his 30 years of service and dedication, 22 of which were with Hamilton county.

Together we can put the right boots on the ground and blaze new trails to ensure our future is great.
