Thanks for Memorial Day support

To the Editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to convey my sincere thanks to the following for their support on Memorial Day:

To the Webster City Police Department for their traffic control at the Crippen Bridge and during the parade; To KQWC?and the Daily Freeman-Journal for their news items; to the Legionnaires and Auxiliary of Post 191 for participation; to the high school band members and their teacher; to the City of Webster City for setting up the venue at Graceland Cemetery; to the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts and their leaders and most of all, to the great turnout of the general public at all four services performed by Post 191. I’m sure I probably missed someone and if so, I’m truly sorry.

In addition, I want to remind people that Post 191 will hold a burning ceremony for flags that have served their purpose. This will be at 5 p.m. June 14 (Flag Day). The ceremony will be in the 700 block north parking lot. Anyone with unserviceable flags may drop them at the legion hall or bring them to the ceremony.

Again, thanks.

Dale Caquelin,

Commander,

American Legion
