To the Editor:

The 27th annual First State Bank Firecracker 5K was held July 4. This year we had great weather and a great turn out.

A total of 220 runners/walkers completed the race. The kids fun run was held making the total over 240 participants.

We would like to thank our major contributors: First State Bank, McFarland Clinic Physical Therapy, Hy-Vee, Fareway and Pepsi. Also DJ Trophies, the Webster City Police Department, Webster City RV, Van Diest Medical Center Ambulance Service, The Daily Freeman-Journal, Rod Hanus, Linda Moenck and Ted Williams from Sports World. A special thanks goes to the Webster City Cross Country family who volunteer to make this event run smoothly.
