Passing down patriotism

To the Editor:

I understand that every D-Day, French school children write and share with younger children, the history of D-Day and the Allied Invasion that changed the War and the World. Although none of them were alive at that time, they know and understand the history and importance of that day and the bravery of our soldiers, and they yearly study and honor it in their communities.

I’m wondering, what do we do in our local history classes?

Thanks to the students who helped prepare the cemetery on Memorial Day and the Veterans past and present. I hope they pass on the patriotism lesson as this country needs it badly.
