Chairman offers thanks to volunteers who helped with dinner

To the Editor:

On Christmas night, about 125 people attended another highly successful Community Christmas dinner at Asbury United Methodist Church. The guests enjoyed a great turkey dinner, entertained by Von Ketelsen, Adele Bowden, along with Genna and Mara Borer.

The dinner was one of the best attended in recent years. My thanks go out to all the volunteers in making the night a success and to everyone at Asbury for allowing us to host this dinner. Thanks also go to the guests in attendance. To the Daily Freeman-Journal, my sincere thanks for promoting the dinner. I also extend special thanks to Myra Maxon for all of her help.

I am happy to say there will be another Christmas dinner next Dec. 25 at Asbury United Methodist Church. It’s a lot of fun for all who come celebrate this special day as we all remember the birth of a special child. Come join us next Christmas. I know I will be there. My sincere best wishes for all of you for a happy 2014 and God bless.
