Vote for continued progress in WC

Webster City has the lone contested race in the county. Three individuals are asking for your support to elect them to the City Council. We’re not going to tell you who to vote for, but we will urge you to vote for continued growth and progress. The future of our community depends on it.

Now is not the time to look backwards. We can’t try to recapture what used to be, we need to continue the forward momentum the city has achieved in the past several years. New business is opening and existing businesses are expanding and growing. One only needs to look around the community to see the progress the new Van Diest Family Health Clinic, new buildings for Maharry Family Dentistry and Thrifty White Pharmacy and the new Shopko Hometown. VeroBlue Farms has made a substantial commitment to the community with the purchase of the former Kenco building. Businesses and organizations are bringing unique attractions to Webster City which will bring visitors to Webster City, meaning business for local motels, restaurants and retail as well.

We also can’t let past disappointments hold us back. We must boldly pursue opportunities as they present themselves. That’s not to say that we shouldn’t practice due diligence. Not every opportunity is worth pursuing. But no prize is ever won without putting forth money or effort.

We hope that you’ll vote for the candidates advocating for continued progress. We can continue the positive path that Webster City is on if we elect leaders who are looking forward, rather than backward.
