CLEONE PELZ

Cleone Pelz, 89, of Webster City formerly of Blairsburg died Friday, January 15, 2021 at Van Diest Medical Center. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center. Burial will be in the Blairsburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home.

Cleone Mary Pelz, daughter of Leo and Marybelle Staley Adams, was born May 23, 1931 in Webster City. She graduated from Lincoln High in 1948. On June 3, 1949, Cleone was united in marriage to Darwin Keith Pelz in Webster City. For 33 years she was the postmaster for the Blairsburg Post Office.

She is survived by her daughters, Diane (Bruce) Simpson of Cantonment, FL, Debra Nerland of Wiliams, Dee Lila (David)Thornhill of Colorado Springs, CO; stepdaughter, Sandra Butler of Des Moines; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and sister, Evelyn Darlene Jones of California.

Cleone is preceded in death by her husband, Darwin in 2014; her parents; son-in-law, Roger Nerland; brothers, Andy Adams, Marvin Adams, Leo Adams Jr. and sister, Edna Bakken.

She was a member of the United Church of Christ-Blairsburg.
