CONNIE EVANS

Connie Mae Boldra, daughter of Theodore Leonard Boldra and Lois Annie Dittmer was born November 8, 1949 at St. Joseph Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa. She graduated with honors from the Holstein High School in 1968, then graduated with honors from the office education program at ICCC in 1969. Prior to her retirement in 2009, she held many full-time and part-time jobs, working around her daughter’s schedules. Full-time jobs included secretary at the Webster City Junior High School, Hahne Printing, Jim Dandy Printing, Webster City Equipment and Hamilton County Abstracting Services, Inc.

On April 2, 1972, she married Gerald Burton (Gary or G.B.) Evans at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.

Connie loved her volunteer “work”. This included assisting many people over the years with shopping, giving rides to Church, taking them to buy their groceries, assisting with balancing their checkbook, and just visiting or maybe playing Cribbage. She was chairman of the church lunch committee for 11 years, bookkeeper for Webster City Congregate Meals of 4 years and was highly active with the Hamilton County Republicans beginning in the early ’80’s. Connie is survived by daughters, Jean Anne (Sam) McDonald of Cannon Falls, MN; Lori (Eric) Kilpatrick of Winterset, IA; Kendra (John) Wienke of Webster City; Casey (Sean) Crees of Panora, IA; 12 grandchildren, Amanda and Coram McDonald, Ben, Theodore and Abigail Kilpatrick, Spencer and Justin Callahan, Tim, Morgan, Ashley, Mason and Natalie Crees; brother, Gary Boldra of Omaha, NE, nephew, Matt Boldra of Sioux City, IA; Boldra and Dittmer cousins and the Blairsburg Evans-in-laws by the dozens and many, many treasured friends.

In lieu flowers or contributions, Connie strongly suggests that you do a random act of kindness for a stranger and/or take food items, paper products or a monetary donation to your local food pantry.
