CONNIE SUZANNE GRANDGEORGE- NICOLETTI

Connie Suzanne Grandgeorge-Nicoletti passed on Tuesday April 7, 2020 at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge from complications due to lung cancer.

Connie was born in Webster City, Iowa and was raised by parents, Laurent and Colleen Grandgeorge. She attended St. Paul’s Parochial School and graduated from Webster City High School. She also received an Associate’s Degree from Iowa Central Community College.

Connie welcomed her son, Tag into her life in 1972. In 1976 she met Richard Nicoletti and they welcomed daughter, Nicole in 1978. Connie and Rich were together from 1976 to 1998. They lived and raised their children in Eagle Grove. Connie resided in Duncombe with long time partner David Haynes from 2001 to the present. Connie was a proud, proud mother and was delighted to the core to be a grandmother.

Early in her career, Connie worked with her mother for Younglove Construction. Connie also worked as a cook and bartender. She worked for Miller Grain Systems constructing grain bins and spent several years working at Frigidaire in Webster City and the Clarion Locker. Connie did volunteer work for the Alzheimer’s Association, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, The Share Christmas Program and The Fort Museum and Frontier Village. Connie was a member of the Eagle Grove Jaycees and she also served as Secretary for the Friends of the Ban de la Roche French Club.

Connie was a free spirit, an old soul and a hippie at heart. She found most of her happiness in music and time shared with family, friends and her beloved dog Miss Claire. Connie loved the water, boating, motorcycling, camping, gardening and anything to do with the outdoors. Connie’s many hobbies included embroidery, quilting, cross stitch, ceramics, doll making and canning the bounty of her gardens. She was famous for her strawberry rhubarb jam, which she always shared with family and friends. Connie was a member of a monthly book club and an avid reader. Connie regularly attended bible study in Eagle Grove and she loved the Lord Jesus and firmly believed that everything was always in his hands.

Connie is survived by her partner, David Haynes of Duncombe, her children Tag (Megan) Grandgeorge of Des Moines, and Nicole Nicoletti (Jamie) Calvert and their children Axyl and Fiona of Eagle Grove, as well as siblings Ron (Pat) Grandgeorge of Omaha, NE, Duane Christian of Webster City, Collette (Darwin) Pohlman of Eagle Grove and Randy Grandgeorge and partner Lisa Moss of Eagle Grove.

She was preceded in death by parents Colleen and Laurent Grandgeorge, biological father Lester Graves and Richard Nicoletti.

The family will plan a celebration of life service when we can all be together to share, embrace, laugh, love and remember Connie’s spirit.
