DORIS BERGMAN
Doris Marilyn Bergman, 84, passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at her home in Stratford, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Stratford Lutheran Church. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at 10:30 am at the Oakwood Cemetery, Stratford, Iowa.
Doris was born on August 18, 1933 and was the daughter of Axel and Helga (Anderson) Swanson. She grew up in the Stratford area and attended Stratford Community School. On March 3, 1951, Doris married Howard Bergman in Boone, Iowa. Doris was a homemaker and very involved with church activities. She enjoyed reading, needlework and playing cards with her friends.
Doris is survived by her children, a son, Brian (Carol) Bergman and a daughter, Kristi (Evan) Young; two grandchildren, Nicole Bergman and Ryan Young, plus numerous nieces and nephews.
Those proceeding her in death were her husband, Howard; her parents, Axel and Helga; brother, Donald (Swede) Swanson and sister, Naomi Erickson.
