Police Reports

A two-vehicle accident occurred on Jan. 26. Geraldine R. Peterson, Webster City, was traveling east bound on Division St. Linda K. Barrick, Webster City, was stopped at the stop sign on Seneca St. facing south bound. Peterson attempted to turn north bound onto Seneca St. and hit Barrick’s vehicle. There were no injuries. There was an estimated $2,000.00 in functional damage to Peterson’s vehicle. There was an estimated $3,500.00 in disabling damage to Barrick’s vehicle.

On Jan. 23 the WCPD was dispatched to an accident at 1129 Nancy Lane. Nancy Kayser told officers she was backing out of her driveway and didn’t turn the wheel enough and backed into her neighbors parked car. Kayser’s vehicle was damaged in the driver’s side rear and the neighbor’s vehicle, a 2010 Chevrolet Impala, was damaged on the driver’s rear side as well. The neighbor was notified of the accident by Kayser. There were no injuries and no citations issued. Kayser’s vehicle received an estimated $500 in minor damage. The Impala received an estimated $800 in minor damage.

Jose A. Paredes-Ramirez, Webster City, was traveling eastbound on Elm St. on Jan. 20. David R. Lynch, Fort Dodge, was traveling northbound on Union St. Paredes-Ramirez failed to yield the right of way to Lynch and hit Lynch. The air bags of Paredes-Ramirez deployed on the passenger side. There were no injuries. Paredes-Ramirez’s vehicle received an estimated $3,000 in disabling damage. Lynch’s vehicle received an estimated $5,000 in severe damage.

Katheryne Garcia, Webster City, was cited for driving without a license on Jan. 18.

On Jan. 15 a warrant to arrest Erin R. Weers, Marshalltown, was served.

Samuel A. Dupis, Webster City, was arrested on Jan. 13 for criminal mischief in the 4th degree and discharging a “BB” gun within city limits.

On Jan. 14, Adam L. Vanwey, Webster City, backed out of the driveway of 125 Bicentennial Rd. Vanwey did not see a 2007 GMC Acadia legally parked on the side of the road. Vanwey backed into the rear driver’s side door of the Acadia. The Acadia received an estimated $2,745.00 in disabling damage. Vanwey’s vehicle had an estimated $500.00 in minor damage.

A two-vehicle accident occurred on Jan. 13. Amber L. Cordoba, Webster City, was traveling north on Des Moines St. and stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of Des Moines and Elm St. Jonus A. Marx, Webster City, failed to stop prior to hitting the rear of Cordoba’s vehicle. Cordoba’s vehicle received an estimated $1,000.00 in minor damage. Marx’s vehicle received an estimated $500.00 in minor damage.

Antrez L. Conley, Webster City, was arrested on Jan. 12 for disorderly conduct and interference with official acts.

Ricky E. Clabaugh, Webster City, was arrested on Jan. 8 for disorderly conduct.

A two-vehicle accident occurred on Jan. 11. Ricky D. Hanson, Fort Dodge, backed up to the end of a driveway in the 1200 block of Second St. Hanson looked both ways and then proceeded to back onto Second St. Patricia A. Scott, Webster City, was heading east down Second St. Hanson did not see Scott and proceeded to back into the rear driver side rocker panel. There were no injuries. Hanson’s vehicle received an estimated $300.00 in minor damage. Scott’s vehicle received an estimated $1,000.00 in functional damage.

A two-vehicle accident occurred on Superior St. on January 9. Robert L. Ross, Webster City, was traveling south on the 900 block of Superior St. At the same time, Troy J. Duffy, Webster City, was also traveling in the 900 block of Superior St. At approximately themid-point of the block, Duffy collided with the rear of Ross’s vehicle. As a result, Ross spun and ran off the road to the west, coming to a stop in a driveway facing north. Duffy then pulled into the same driveway and stopped. Ross stated that he had turned on Superior St. from the east at the intersection of Division St. and Superior St. and was attempting to turn west into the alley at the mid-poit of the 900-block of Superior St. when the collision occurred. Duffy stated that he had been traveling south on Superior St. when Ross cut across all four traffic lanes on Superior St. to turn into the alley. Duffy went on to explain that Ross pulled in front of him without leaving enough room for him to safely slow down, causing Duffy to collide with Ross. No injuries were reported. Ross’s vehicle received an estimated $500.00 in minor damgage. Duffy’s vehicle received an estimated $500.00 in minor damage.

An accident occurred at the intersection of Broadway St. and Second St. on Jan. 8. Martin Torres-Sanchez, Webster City, was stopped and waiting for traffic ahead of him to move when his vehicle was struck by a vehicle driven by Jacob Z. Gilbert, Webster City. Gilbert reported the icy street prevented him from stopping. Gilbert’s vehicle received as estimated $2,500.00 in functional damage. Torres-Sanchez’s vehicle received an estimated $1,000.00 in minor damage.

A warrant to arrest Brandon M. Pelz, Webster City, was served on Dec. 30.

Aaron M. Rider, Webster City, was traveling west bound on Walnut St. Rider failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Des Moines St. and Walnut St. Rider hit a vehicle driven by Amy J. Shannon, Webster City, who was traveling south bound. There were no injuries. Rider’s vehicle received an estimated $2,500.00 in minor damages. Shannon’s vehicle received an estimated $3,000.00 in minor damages.
