Webster City police responds to Saturday shooting, investigates cause

This past weekend, the Webster City Police Department responded to and is currently investigating an incident that sent one man to a Des Moines area hospital for non-life threatening gunshot wounds.

At approximately 6:49 p.m. last Saturday, the WCPD received a 911 call of a man who had discharged a weapon and was running around in the yard at 408 Grove St. in Webster City.

According to Shiloh Mork, WCPD chief, the local authorities arrived on the scene and located an adult male who was “suffering from two gunshot wounds.” Due to the ongoing investigation, the identity of the individual was not released.

Mork stated that the initial investigation concluded that there is no harm to the general public and that “this was an isolated incident.”
