The board approved plans for three bridge replacements to be completed either this fall or in the spring of 2023.

One of the bridges would be on 350th Street in Marion Township. This project will be let by the Iowa Department of Transportation Aug. 16. The replacement structure will be a 10-foot by 10-foot by 74-foot precast concrete box culvert. The project will be funded with Federal-Aid Swap Bridge Replacement funds.

Two temporary construction easements are required, at 0.81 acres each.

The other two bridge replacements are both box concrete replacement bridges. The two projects will be let at 10:30 a.m. on June 7 in supervisors’ office at the Hamilton County Courthouse. One project is on Tucker Avenue in Williams Township, and the other is on 230th Street in Liberty Township. The projects are being let together due to their close proximity. This is expected to reduce the cost to the county.

The Tucker project will be funded with local option sales tax funds up to $150K; the remainder with Secondary Road Funds. Two temporary construction easements are required, 0.81 acres each. The 230h Street project will be funded with Secondary Road Funds. Two temporary construction easements are required, 0.81 acres each.
