New directors to join board table

Clarken, Stoakes to take oath of office

Newly elected Webster City school board members Kelsey Clarken and Dave Stoakes will take their places in the boardroom Monday night. The meeting will be held at the administration office at 6 p.m.

Clarken and Stoakes, along with Eric Patterson, who was re-elected to the board in the November election, will join directors Beth Van Diest and Marlin Pruismann.

The retiring board will gather at the start of the meeting to appoint board secretary Kathy Biere and to review the official results of the school board election.

The board will also take action on the hall of fame selection process and will set the teacher substitute pay plans

The retiring board will then adjourn the meeting before the new board takes its seats.

The board will also elect the board president and vice president before conducting several housekeeping tasks, including establishing meeting dates and times, naming the official publication, designating the legal counsel and the financial depositories for the bank.

Information about the informal meeting with the Stratford School Board will be discussed.

In action items, the board is expected to:

∫ Approve the school budget review committee request due to increased enrollment;

∫ Approve the school budget review committee request for modified allowable growth for LEP Instruction beyond 5 years;

∫ Approve the debt service general obligation bond interest payments for $113,969.66;

∫ Accept the Iowa Local Government Risk Pool Commission Refund;

∫ Approve a special education contracts for student services with Dubuque Community Schools;

∫ Accept a $500 donation on behalf of Carl Day and family; accept a $400 donation to Sunset Heights Elementary;

∫ Approve a softball fundraisers;

∫ Accept resignation of Jordan Moen, assistant varsity baseball coach.

The board will also hear a report from Superintendent Dr. Mandy Ross.
