In an update to the City Council of Webster City earlier this week, Hamilton County Public Health administrator said she is seeing an increase of in-house spread among family members but also spread from events that have been held.

“We get anywhere from 5 to 15 positive cases every single day, and there’s nothing really linking them together. It is just everywhere,” she said. “When you’re in this wide community spread, face masks are important to slow the spread.” She added that the CDC is still recommending that all of the public wear masks when in public.

The Regional Medical Coordination Center dashboard on Thursday showed Region 3 of Iowa, has 141 patients hospitalized with COVID-19. The region is located in the northwest corner of the state and includes Hamilton County. Twenty-three positive cases are intensive care and 26 were admitted in the past 24 hours.
