Pippin pleads not guilty to attempted murder

A Webster City man arrested on a charge of attempted murder in connection with a stabbing that occurred in September, has pleaded not guilty in Hamilton County District Court.

Ty Christian Pippin, 21, entered a written plea of not guilty and a request for a speedy trial on Monday. According to online court records, a jury trial has been set for Dec. 15 at 9 a.m. in Hamilton County District Court.

Pippin is accused of stabbing Nicholas Walter Janvrin, 28, of Webster City. Webster City Police Department officers were called to Van Diest Medical Center at about 2:20 p.m. on Sept. 20 when Janvrin was dropped off at the facility with multiple stab wounds to his torso. According to reports, Janvrin told officers he was involved in an altercation with an acquaintance in front of his residents at 744 First St.

Pippin is being held in the Hamilton County Jail om a $50,000 cash bond.

Others charged in connection with the incident were

¯ Nicholas Walter Janvrin, disorderly conduct, a simple misdemeanor;

¯ Sherice Marie Caudle, 48, accessory after the fact, an aggravated misdemeanor;

¯ Shayler K. Caruth, 27, obstruction of prosecution, an aggravated misdemeanor.
