What’s allowed to be open in Iowa

Gov. Kim Reynolds has gradually been peeling away the various restrictions on businesses that have been imposed since March in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Social, community, recreational, leisure and sporting gatherings are now allowed. Events that include more than 10 people are allowed as long as attendance is limited to 50 percent of the venue’s capacity and six-foot social distancing is observed.

These business and facilities are now allowed to be open, as long as proper public health precautions, such as social distancing, are observed:

• Amusement parks

• Barbershops

• Bars

• Bowling alleys

• Breweries

• Campgrounds

• Casinos

• Distilleries

• Libraries

• Malls

• Massage therapists

• Movie theaters

• Museums

• Outdoor performance venues

• Outdoor playgrounds

• Race tracks

• Restaurants

• Salons

• Skate parks

• Skating rinks

• Social and fraternal clubs

• Spas

• Swimming pools (for lap swimming and lessons only)

• Tanning facilities

• Tattoo parlors

• Wineries

• Zoos
