to end spring

semester online

Iowa Central Community College President Dr. Dan Kinney has announced that the college is going to finish the spring semester online.

“In the next few class periods, your faculty will share additional information on how your class will continue for the remainder of the semester,” Kinney wrote.

The college had made the decision to move classes online for a limited time after Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds released guidance recommending all schools close through April 12. However, Kinney’s announcement on Sunday extends the virtual classroom teaching through the end of the spring semester.

For students living in on-campus housing, housing staff is working on a plan for students to collect belongings and move out of their room. That information will be shared early this week, and Kinney encourages students to continue to check their email.

“This decision was not easy to make, but I feel it is the best for the safety of our Triton family,” Kinney wrote. “Please remember to continue practice social distancing, so we can continue to fight the virus.”
