Hicok enters race for county sheriff

Rod Hicok announced today that he has entered the race for Hamilton County Sheriff as a Republican candidate in this years’ Primary Election on June 2.

Hicok has 39 years of law enforcement experience and training, 29 years with the Iowa Department of Public Safety and 10 years with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.

He and his wife of 38 years, Sandy, have lived in Webster City for 20 years and have 4 children and 6 grandchildren.

Hicok ran as an independent in 2016 against Republican Doug Timmons of Stratford. Timmons won the election and has served as sheriff since that time.

“I feel I offer a great deal of leadership ability and true commitment to the members of the sheriff’s office and to the citizens of Hamilton County,” Hicok said. “I would certainly appreciate the citizens’ vote in June and I will continue to work hard in my efforts to improve safety for everyone in Hamilton County.

“I have a very strong and proven work ethic and proven leadership abilities as well as commitment to serving the communities in Hamilton County and the citizens of the State of Iowa. I strive to improve myself constantly and hope to be able to do the same as Hamilton County Sheriff,” Hicok said.
