Webster City Veterans Day events

WCMS program at 10:45 a.m., WCHS program at 1 p.m. Monday

Webster City will celebrate local military veterans during various ceremonies and events on Veterans Day, Monday.

Veterans from the American Legion Post 191 will be talking to eighth grade students at Webster City Middle School about their military experiences from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

The Veterans Day program at WCMS, 1101 Des Moines St., will begin at 10:45 a.m. in the school’s multi-purpose room. Organizers would like everyone who plans to attend to be seated before 10:45 a.m.

Webster City High School, 1001 Lynx Ave., will host a lunch for veterans and their spouses from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.

The WCHS Veterans Day program will begin at 1 p.m. in the high school gym. Tech. Sgt. Savannah Page, from the Iowa Air National Guard, will be the guest speaker.

Another guest speaker, Jason Kemp, State Director of Home Base Iowa, will bestow the designation upon Hamilton County as a Home Base Iowa Community during the program.

All veterans and members of the community are invited to both programs.
