Hypnosis show to raise funds for WCHS After Prom

Adult night-out planned for BW Conference Center Saturday

Adults are invited to an evening out at the Briggs Woods Conference Center Saturday, Nov. 23, to help raise funds for the local After Prom event next spring.

A Las Vegas-style hypnosis show, featuring hypnotist Randall Andrews, is planned, according to one of the organizers, Sarah Kopriva. She said the event, designed for those 21 and older, will benefit the annual After-Prom activity, traditionally hosted by the senior parents.

“As senior parents we were kind of tired of selling things,” she said. “Some of the other fundraisers we’ve done over the past few years, we’ve found people like to put their money toward something fun – not just a candle or a discount card.”

Kopriva said the group of parents decided to host the hypnotism show.

“We planned it before Thanksgiving as a date night or a night out with friends before the hustle and bustle of the holiday season arrives,” she said.

The tickets, which are available at the door, are $20 per person or $30 for couples. The doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the show will begin at 8:30 p.m. There will be an open bar and snacks will be served.

Kopriva said the fundraiser will allow the After Prom festivities to continue.

“After Prom is kind of a safe haven for kids,” she said. “They can come and play some games, win some prizes and they aren’t out roaming the streets after prom is over.”
